Just Thinking

Well it's a thought!
Have you ever experienced a moment where every breath was heavier, your stomach, seemed to tighten and your heart seemed to pound against your chest as if asking to be let out, have you ever felt a quick flowing chill run over your body as you looked into someones eyes?
I remember when i first did.
I had started that winter morning like any other, grumpy, my parents had thought it to be a good idea that i, go around and help people in my neighborhood, it was their way of getting me out of the house and out of their hair for a few hours. I allowed myself to slowly get ready, wearing as many layers as i could three undershirts, a turtleneck, and a puffy coat that was very... unattractive, jeans, five pairs of socks, snow boots, mittens piled over mittens and a scarf, i remember everything about that day, like how my mother after handing me my breakfast, placed an itchy hat on my head, sending me a look as i tried prying it off my head, i remember how my father looked up from his newspaper and smiled, sipping from the mug in his hand, how my eldest brother patted my head as he grabbed his keys and left, and how i rolled my eyes as my mother eagerly handed me a shovel and a snack bag, basically throwing me from the house out into the cold. The air hitting me with such force that i could feel the heat leaving my body as i began knocking on doors, shoveling snow and hesitantly taking the money offered to me as i finished, i had never been one to enjoy excepting money, but since i had worked for it all i could do was smile, say thank you and stuff the money into my coat pocket, continuing on until i reached the last house on the street, my hands were now numb,i could feel the cold air sending a slicing chill down my body, as i sniffed the excess mucus that was beginning to slide down my nasal canal, as i knocked on the door, swiping a way a stray strand of my annoying curly hair from my face, as i stifled a cough.
The door opened as quickly as i knocked, my eyes widening at the sight of the God of our Middle School, Chad Wylie a seventh grader with piercing blue eyes, sandy blond hair, 5'5 height, and the smile of an angel, i bit the inside of my lip, realizing that my throat was constricting slowly, my breathing was becoming heavier, and i was pretty sure he could hear the beating of my heart, as he stood there wearing his signature washed out jeans, and long sleeve tee shirt, his hair combed back, he smiled causing my stomach to explode with nervousness, the feeling of enraged bumblebees swarming in my belly going unnoticed by me as my sides tightened.
Realizing it would be better to start talking than to just stare at him i inhaled deeply and let out a weak 'HI' he lifted his eyebrow and smirked releasing a smooth 'hello', i gulped lifting the shovel i hand in my hand up.
"Shovel...Driveway" i muttered unintelligibly he nodded
i could hear a series of laughs coming from behind him, i looked past him to see a group of his friends watching our exchange, and laughing loudly at it. He smirked as he crossed his arms, his lips quivering as he tried to contain his laughter.
I quickly turned around mentally smacking myself over and over again for being such an idiot, though i couldn't help but let a stray tear fall from my eyes as i quickly began to shovel up the snow, the affect of our meeting unrelenting as i continued. The heat had come back to my body, due to the humiliation i felt, i knew though that what i had felt was something i had never felt before and with all my heart, i hoped to never feel that way again, as i said a silent prayer that they wouldn't see my face, tears now streaming quickly down it. For some unknown reason i felt REJECTED.
I did however go home that day, smiling softly as i excepted the warm mug of hot cocoa from my mother, i looked at her and my father laughing later that night, and i remembered how she hadtold me the story of how she and my father met, how she felt and i couldn't help but realize we had shared the same feeling so as i thought back to the event that had occured earlier that day i asked my self.
"Was it love i felt?"
WELL IT'S JUST A THOUGHT.
